I had the opportunity to go to Tokyo to present two papers at the "Integrate 2001" conference. Here is the story and pictures of my trip, broken into pieces so that the images can load in a reasonable time.
The trip over was resoundingly uneventful.
Monday was devoted to Art, art, and art, including a Butoh performance and a stroll through the Tokyo National Museum.
Tuesday I moved to the Grand Palace hotel and made my first appearance at the conference, then did some shopping.
Wednesday I spoke for the first time.
Thursday I gave my second presentation.
Thursday evening and Friday were devoted to food Friday morning I went down to Tsukiji Fish Market with my colleague Tim Maggio.
Friday I came home, after walking above ground to glimpse the Imperial Palace and the Yasukuni Shrine.
